Dr. Warren Ertle is an award-winning composer, bandleader, and ragtime/stride pianist based in Tuscaloosa, AL. He is the winner of the 2022 New Rag Contest and a two-time regular division finalist at the World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest & Festival. Considered an expert on the music of the Ragtime Era and American Jazz Age, Ertle performs regularly as a soloist, in the duo Yellow Cocktail Music with vocalist Jamie Shannon, and is the bandleader of authentic 1920s-1930s jazz band, Dr. Warren Ertle’s Corpse Revivers.
Ertle holds degrees in composition from Boston Conservatory at Berklee and The University of Alabama and his music has been performed nationally and internationally by The Shoals Symphony, The Mississippi Symphony String Quartet, Delta State University Wind Ensemble, Hinds Community College Wind Ensemble, Boston Conservatory Chorale, percussionist, Jason Baker, The 41st…
